Mumbai: Famous Urdu satiric poet Sagar Khayami passed away yesterday at Mumbai’s Nanavati Hospital after a prolonged illness. He was 70. He was suffering from lung cancer. He is survived by his wife and three sons.
His body has been flown to Lucknow for burial.
Born as Syed Rasheedul Hasan, he is known by his title Sagar Khayami across the globe. He was born to a learned family in Lucknow on 7th June 1938.
His grand-father Fakhir Lukhnawi was a renowned literary person in the city.
